Was Jason Collins Paid to say he is GAY????

May 1st, 2013 | By love not hate

Leave your comment below we want to hear from you, read below what a reader had to say:

s a needy attempt at attention.. his career is almost over. Now he’s floating around feeling “the best he ever felt” because he’s got the support and love from all the gay happy co-signers and supporters.

Absolutely sickens me, personally.. and what’s worse is that OTHER ATHLETES who might not agree with his move—- (most likely because of religious beliefs) are FORCED to either accept his trip OR even sound like they are endorsing it.. for fear of some type of negative affect on their own careers.

His private business should STAY private— why did we REALLY need to know that?

99.9 % of the athletes on TV NO ONE KNOWS (or cares) if they’re married, hetero or otherwise. BASKETBALL is about SPORT, not your martial/sexual status.

Now he’ll be a candidate for 300 bravery awards because of his decision.

Sick.. sick sick.. I tell you.

Nick Cannon as the REAL RICK ROSS

March 5th, 2013 | By love not hate

Freeway Ricky Ross

(AllHipHop News)  Nick Cannon might not have been old enough to drink milk alone when convicted drug kingpin “Freeway” Rick Ross was at his height, but now he will be able to see what is like to be a major dealer in a new film.

The charismatic comedian/rapper/actor/host will depict the street legend in the “real Rick Ross’” upcoming biopic.

While on the surface some may believe Nick Cannon seems like an odd choice to play a drug lord, the man born Ricky Donnell Ross believes it was perfect.

“I chose Nick based on a few factors. The role is 17-25 in age, many of our award-winning actors are much older than that range. Nick is a guy who captures my character when I was in custody in San Diego.”

More shocking than the fact that the former Nickelodeon star was Ross’ own choice is the fact that he made that choice over 15 years ago.

In a YouTube clip with him and Cannon announcing the partnership, Ross says he has wanted Cannon to play his role since 1996 when he was only 16.

Ross also said him and Cannon will be working together with his non-profit organization, Freeway Literacy Foundation. The film will be directed and written by acclaimed filmmaker Nick Cassavetes.

“Freeway Ricky Ross is a living American legend. A modern day street genius. To not know his story is to not understand our country, how it works, what it needs, and what it will do to get it,” Nick Cassavetes told AllHipHop.com in a previous interview. “From his modest Los Angeles beginnings to his meteoric rise to the top of the drug world, Rick’s ‘hustle’ was unparalleled in modern history….but when that government was done with him, it locked him up and left him as the fall guy responsible for the destruction of an entire community.”

The as-of-yet untitled biopic will detail Ross’ involvement in the drug trade of the 80′s, his incarceration and more. According to Ross himself, there will be no glorification of the drug trade and the lifestyle associated with it in an attempt to present an honest tale:

“This story will be real, and show how the War on Drugs took young kids and turned them into criminals and set them for prison practically over night. It’s not just an LA story my reach was across the nation into black, white, and all communities regardless of class. Our goal is to tell the truth, not a vanity piece.”

Ross seems to be determined to shed light on the inner workings and corruption of the drug trade as he also has a new documentary slated for release entitled Cracks In The System.

Directed and produced by Emmy award-winning documentarian Marc Levin, Cracks In The System will delve into the mechanics of the old and new crack laws, the failed War on Drugs and even include commentary from Snoop Dogg, Warren G and more. Cracks In The System is set to debut in the fall.

Check below for video of Nick Cannon and “Freeway” Rick Ross announcing their partnership for the biopic:

PITBULL VS. LIL WAYNE

February 28th, 2013 | By love not hate

Lil Wayne and Pitbull
Lil Wayne is reevaluating his friendship with Pitbull following the Miami rapper’s diss record. The two took to Twitter to hash out their issues.

Mr. 305 released his remix to “Harlem Shake,” entitled “Welcome to Dade County,” on which he defends his hometown and rips Weezy for his disrespectful comments about the Miami Heat.

“Don’t shit where you eat,” Pitbull barks at the New Orleans native. “When we show love to those that get their city destroyed by a hurricane and then they come down here…”

Weezy heard Pit’s charged words and responded in a tweet. “Dam pit bull bro I thought u was kool,” he wrote.

Pitbull explained to him why he was upset. “@LilTunechi I am cool papo but imagine me shitting on anything new orleans which I was just there for super bowl the big easy I loved it,” he tweeted. “@LilTunechi the world shows me love and vice versa but miami is all I got no disrespect just the truth.”

The two previously collaborated on the remix to Pitbull’s “Dammit Man” off his 2005 album Money Is Still a Major Issue.

Woman addicted to Booty Shots

February 14th, 2013 | By love not hate

A woman addicted to black market butt injections has increased her behind by three dress sizes – and says she needs another 36 injections before she is happy.

Karmello, 23 from Detroit Michigan has filled her buttocks with two litres of liquid from illegal injections, taking it from a size four to a size ten.

In the latest episode of TLC’s My Strange Addiction, the mother-of-one admits to having had 54 injections in the past three years – not one of them done by a plastic surgeon.

Karmello was unhappy with her small behind and started with the injections three years ago. Despite her determination to increase her behind the medical way, not one of the injections have been performed by a plastic surgeon.

Instead she gets them from the black market from a woman she often meets in a hotel, spending thousands of dollars on filling her body with unknown liquids.

So far, she has had over 50 injections and at the beginning of the show she estimates that it will take another 36 before she gets the body she wants.

BOTTOM OF THE BLACK MARKET

Illegal butt injections have increased in the past years with many black market operators using anything from glue to soy bean oil and industry grade silicone.

The cheap alternative to plastic surgery has become popular among transsexuals and in the African American community.

Those carrying out the procedures, known as ‘shot girls’ take around $300 per injection compared to professional plastic surgery which can cost around $12,000.

In the disturbing episode of the TLC show Karmello’s friend Vanity Wonder, author of book Shots Girls who herself spent over $15,000 on illegal butt and hip injections, tries to warn Karmello of the risks.

Vanity, who nearly died after contracting an infection from a shot, tells her she needs to stop the dangerous practice.

After Karmello’s sister Jennifer also pleads with her to stop for the sake of her four-year-old son, Karmello visits plastic surgeon Dr Anthony Youn.

Dr Youn shows her an x-ray of her behind and points out that the fat is ‘sponge-like’ and warns her the next injection could kill her.

After she has seen the images of her behind, Karmello decides to fight her addiction and stop the injections.

Grammy Awards dress code

February 8th, 2013 | By love not hate

A wardrobe advisory sent by CBS to Grammy attendees this week had members of the press screaming for joy.

It’s not often they get to talk about “bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks” and “bare sides or under curvature of the breasts” under the guise of “breaking news.”

Fergie at the 54th annual Grammy Awards. (Chris Pizzello – AP)

But that, and lots more where that came from, is included in the network’s “Wardrobe Advisory” first leaked to Web site Deadline.com by a snippy source who complained, “I assume that my lovely colleagues do not get this same email for the Oscars.”

Well, of course not, Pookie. But when was the last time you saw Helen Mirren in a bedazzled turquoise thong-onsie with Imelda Marcos sleeves and Tinkerbell wings, like Lady Gaga wore to perform at the 2010 Grammys — or Meryl Streep in a purple pastie, like the one Lil’ Kim wore to the 1999 VMA’s?

But if you’re worried that CBS’s memo is going to wreck your Grammy-viewing fun on Sunday, rest easy.

CBS says that it sent the same fashion-guidance memo last year before it broadcast the live music-industry trophy show.

And last year at the Grammys — when not mourning the previously night’s death of Whitney Houston — Fergie was posing in black bra and briefs under a bright orange see-through lace Jean Paul Gaultier gown. Which apparently got a thumbs-up from the CBS Grammy Decency Police.

That said, there’s no doubt that the press will critique this year’s Grammys outfits against CBS’s leaked dress-code memo, in which “thong type costumes are problematic,” and “foreign language on wardrobe will need to be cleared.”

Nicki Minaj arrives at the 54th annual Grammy Awards. (Chris Pizzello – AP) But take away their thongs, their under curvature of female body parts and their foreign language, and musicians will still finds ways to express themselves sartorially. At last year’s Grammys, for instance, Nicki Minaj made headlines wearing the latest in Red-Riding-Hood-visits-Vatican.

Guy who car jacked Bobby V. has been arrested

January 28th, 2013 | By love not hate

Police have identified one of two men accused in the armed carjacking of R&B singer Bobby V in Midtown Atlanta Tuesday night.

Robert Unrico McFarland, 18, was arrested Tuesday shortly after the carjacking. Police said he was one of two armed robbers who approached singer Robert Wilson — known as Bobby V — after he parked a red 2013 Bentley in a lot outside the Hot Beats Recording Studio at 1200 Spring Street Tuesday night. Police say Wilson complied with the men and they drove away in the car.

An off-duty lieutenant heard a call over police radio about the incident and found the luxury car abandoned nearby at the Arts Center MARTA station, according to police spokesman Greg Lyon.

Authorities say Wilson and witnesses identified McFarland as a suspect and he was taken into custody.

The swooner is known for his big hit “Slow Down” in 2005, and other notable tunes such as “Lights Down Low,” “Come Touch Me” and “One Girl To Love.”

Police are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call (404) 658-6636 or Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-8477. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $2000.

Madonna’s ‘Addicted To Sweat’ WORKOUT SERIES

January 23rd, 2013 | By love not hate

Madonna Addicted To Sweat

The woman who taught us how to “Vogue” is now going to teach us how to work out! That’s right — Madonna, along with her personal trainer Nicole Winhoffer, is launching a new DVD series called “Addicted To Sweat.”

“In 2010 Madonna opened her first gym in Mexico City, and the idea for the opening was to teach a cardio class. She thought that would be a great idea, so we taught a class and the members loved it. She led the class and I was next to her,” her personal trainer Nicole tells The Huffington Post. “I always document the programs I do with her, and we went through my diary and she chose one of the programs to turn into the DVD, which she named ‘Addicted to Sweat.’”

Explaining that her job is really a liaison to Madonna, making sure the queen of pop gives her stamp of approval to all aspects of the gyms and DVDs, Nicole insists that Madonna picks everything from the music, to the routine, to the look of each DVD.

“Fitness is so important to her because she’s one to empower people. She is an example — not just as a pop icon, but an example as a businesswoman, an entrepreneur, a woman that’s in shape,” says Nicole. “The only way she is able to get through her day and schedule all her meetings and to be there for her children is to have a fit body. She makes time in her schedule for the workout. It gets her mind and body to connect. She always wants to be the best and everyone around her to be the best. Her fitness is the key. She’s the perfect example to share her workout with people around the world.”

Nicole says Madonna’s gyms may be coming to the U.S. in the future. But for now, we can all say goodbye to Jane Fonda and hello to Madonna while exercising in front of the TV.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER AND CANELO ALVAREZ

January 23rd, 2013 | By love not hate

Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Negotiations for fights that will likely define the first half of 2013 are accelerating this week, beginning with the May 4 card expected to feature Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in separate bouts.

Golden Boy Promotions Chief Executive Richard Schaefer told The Times on Tuesday that attorneys could finalize details this week for Mayweather Jr.’s likely bout against Robert Guerrero.

Schaefer added Alvarez “will be fighting May 4, and so will Mayweather, but I’m not saying they’re fighting each other and I’m not saying anything more until we’ve finalized the agreements.”

Alvarez, the super-welterweight world champion, could fight Alfredo Angulo, James Kirkland or Austin Trout.

The location is expected to be MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, Schaefer and his rival promoter Bob Arum have struck at least a minor agreement, allowing Abner Mares’ manager Frank Espinoza to serve as an intermediary to negotiate a possible April 13 super-bantamweight title unification bout between Golden Boy’s Mares and Arum’s Nonito Donaire.

Espinoza said he is “encouraged” by the momentum of the talks and contends “this is a very marketable fight between a great fighter from Mexico and a great fighter from the Philippines.”

Espinoza said he would expect to know if the fight can happen within two weeks, after Arum returns from a trip.

Though Mares (25-0-1, 13 knockouts) will likely accept a smaller purse than Donaire in the bout,  Schaefer and Espinoza said they’ve proposed that should Mares win, the purses would be flip-flopped for the rematch.

Schaefer said he doubts Arum will agree because “he knows Donaire will lose.”

Yet, Donaire (31-1, 20 KOs), likely to be named the fighter of the year for 2012, would be the expected betting favorite in the bout.

Painting a grim outcome of the talks is Donaire manager Cameron Dunkin, who told The Times, “That fight’s not happening. Get over it, and let’s move in to something else.”

Dunkin said Mares is asking for too much money – cash that will not be near what HBO or Showtime would pay for the fight.

Yet, Dunkin is optimistic that a rematch between his fighter, Oxnard’s Brandon Rios, and Mike Alvarado – a possible 2012 fight of the year – will be made for March 30 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

“We’re closer, not quite there, but on the downhill slope,” Dunkin said.

There are agonizing talks underway to make a March 16 Timothy Bradley-Yuriorkis Gamboa fight atHome Depot Center in Carson.

Bradley (29-0, 12 KOs) would defend the World Boxing Organization belt he won from Manny Pacquiao in June, but the fighters at this point are trying to haggle through talks for a catch-weight limit.

Bradley has moved to 145 pounds, according to a source familiar with negotiations but unauthorized to discuss them, after 130-pound fighter Gamboa (22-0, 16 KOs) requested the bout be at 143 pounds.

Elle Magazine is looking for EDITORS

January 23rd, 2013 | By love not hate

The previous edition of Elle Australia closed a decade ago.

The editor will be named shortly, Bauer said in a statement this morning.

Paris-based international editorial director of Elle Valeria Llopiz told The Australian she would interview prospective editors in conjunction with Bauer this week.

“We’re looking for someone well experienced at the high end of the market, but with an understanding of fashion,” Llopiz said. “They will need a 360-degree strategy approach that takes in digital. She or he – we have a male editor in China – will understand our values and tone.”

The launch will be the first since Bauer bought ACP Magazines last year, Bauer Media Australia CEO Matt Stanton said.

“We are particularly excited to be launching ELLE, which offers readers and marketers all the benefits of a well-respected and successful global brand, as well the opportunity to participate in a multiplatform magazine from the start,” he said.

Hearst-Bauer Media joint venture publisher Peter Holder said the magazine, which will have a heavy multi-platform focus, would “will lift the bar and set new standards – challenging every notion of what a magazine can do and be”

Hearst also publishes Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and Madison in conjunction with Bauer Media Australia.

Elle Australia will be the 44th edition of the magazine worldwide. According to Llopiz, the title attracts 29 per cent of advertising worldwide in its target market.

Globally the masthead offers “34 local websites, 28 million unique web visitors, eight mobile apps and18 thematic mobile apps, 10 iPad apps and seven thematic iPad apps, more than 2.5 million Facebook likes and 3.5 million Twitter followers”, the statement said.

Elle Australia has been an on-again, off-again proposition after launch plans were canned last March only to be revived by the middle of last year.

Martin Luther King’s dream is alive

January 21st, 2013 | By love not hate

(CNN) — The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would hardly recognize America in 2013, the 50th anniversary year of his world-famous “I Have a Dream” speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

The efforts of King and countless others have not only made it possible for Barack Obama to become the first black president of the United States, but also created unprecedented opportunities for the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, and virtually anyone who had previously been given a check that has, as King put it, “come back marked ‘insufficient funds.’”

I personally cannot think of MLK Day without reflecting on my life as a product of post-civil rights America: I was conceived on the coattails of that movement to a single mother, absent father, horrific poverty, and despair and fear I would not wish upon anyone.

Yet here I am, a direct beneficiary of King’s legacy. I do not take the opportunities given to me lightly. Especially since my mother, born in South Carolina in the Jim Crow-era, has sickening memories of the racial oppression back in those days. Her family had no electricity, no indoor running water and no television.

The day that King delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech, my mother turned 20. “We knew there was colored folks marching in Washington,” my mother told me. “We just did not know what for exactly.”

The what for had everything to do with democracy, freedom, voting and citizenship rights, for a group longed blocked from the doors of the American dream. It means the only way we could ever come to “a beautiful symphony of brotherhood” that King spoke of is for each of us, no matter our background, to honor and recognize who we are, including very uncomfortable parts of our history, like slavery, which was depicted in recent films like Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln” and Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained.” We cannot sit at the table of diversity and multiculturalism if we are not even clear what we are bringing to share.

In King’s speeches and writings in the last years of his life, he wanted people, including black people, to embrace and appreciate their culture and heritage. But it was never an either or for him. King worked for and loved Black America, and he worked for and loved America.

From 1963 to the present, the United States has changed dramatically. When I attended integrated schools, I remember sitting elbow to elbow with children of different races, something my mother could not have fathomed in her childhood dominated by “Whites Only” and “Coloreds Only” signs everywhere.

But the work is far from over.

I think King would be saddened that the poverty and economic disparities he fought against at the end of his life are still here. He would be outraged by the kind of racism that routinely profiles young black and Latino males and fills our nation’s prison system with black and brown bodies.

He would be awestruck and angered by the visionless black leadership that has come to dominate black communities nationwide, more concerned with media moments and money than solutions. He would wonder how black culture has deteriorated from Harry Belafonte, Motown and Nina Simone to Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and reality TV shows that present utterly destructive black images.

I think he would be disheartened by the numerous wars that have occurred since Vietnam and by the fact that more than one million Americans have died by gun violence since he himself was shot and murdered in Memphis on April 4, 1968. And moreover, he would be very outspoken about how some Americans treat immigrants, and our inability to see their plights as great civil rights issues of our time.

But, King would smile broadly, in that way he did, as we witnessed the stunning rainbow coalition of Americans who voted Barack Obama into office in 2008, as a direct extension of King’s prophetic dream.

Despite the historical significance of electing Barack Obama into the Oval Office twice, and the great victories we accomplished together as a nation in the past 50 years, King would urge us to continue his work since a lot more needs to be done.

The harsh reality is that Martin Luther King Jr. is never coming back. We have a federal holiday dedicated to him, we have the moral authority of his spoken and written words, and we have his mighty spirit hovering over our nation like an uninterrupted sheet of light. But I sincerely believe that if we are going to live up to the extraordinary vision of King, then we must open our hearts more to each other, as sisters and brothers, as part of the human family.

We know, as he knew, that love must be a living and breathing thing. In celebration of his legacy, let’s keep in mind that service to others must become as natural to us as breathing, for the good of America and for the good of all of us.

Leonardo DiCaprio DANCES TO KANYE WEST

January 18th, 2013 | By love not hate

                        Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio may have lost the Golden Globe for his role inDjango Unchained, but that didn’t stop the actor from enjoying himself a few nights later.

Alongside best friend Lukas Haas, DiCaprio visited West Hollywood hot spot Bootsy Bellows on Tuesday night.

Donning a newsboy hat, DiCaprio mingled with club promoters, while Haas did “his own thing,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE. “Leo hung back and sat on top of the banquette. He was getting a ton of attention from the ladies.”

The usually quiet DiCaprio was “upbeat” and “even danced and clapped along” as music from Jay-Z and Kanye West played. And when the actor was approached by other clubgoers, he was “very gracious and chatted with them for a few minutes,” the source adds.

Once the lights came on, the two friends reconvened to figure out their plans for the rest of the night.

PAYING TRIBUTE TO AALIYAH

January 17th, 2013 | By love not hate

Aaliyah

Missy Elliott and Timbaland have paid tribute to their late friend Aaliyah on what would have been the R&B star’s 34th birthday.

The singer died in a plane crash in the Bahamas on August 25, 2001, when she was just 22 years old. Fans took to Twitter on Wednesday to mark her birthday, and made “Aaliyah” one of the top trending topics on the social networking site.

Elliott, who regularly collaborated with Aaliyah throughout the singer’s short career, posted a special message for her pal on Twitter, writing, “We miss u Aaliyah! It’s not a day go pass we don’t think of u and how your music still have a impact on the world! RIP baby girl.” Timbaland shared a link to the music video for Aaliyah’s track “4 Page Letter,” and re-tweeted the tribute, “Happy Birthday to the beautiful Aaliyah! Our angel … Never forgotten!”

Kanye wear skirt for 12-12-12 concert, lets remeber diddy skirt too! hmmmmm

December 13th, 2012 | By love not hate

Anything can happen when Kanye West takes the stage. But thankfully, at the 12-12-12 concert for Sandy relief it was just West’s bold fashion choice that shocked fans.

He wore a black leather skirt-like bottom over his pants paired with a black hoodie while he performed at the benefit concert.

The kilt bottom swayed back and forth as West jumped around the stage rapping hits like “Gold Digger” and “Touch the Sky.”

One twitter user quipped: “Kanye must have swapped suitcases with Kim Kardashian.”

But Kanye’s skirt had the last Twitter laugh when it joined Twitter and racked up over 1,000 followers by morning.

“Nothing but the finest pleather money can buy. Yeah, i’m fly,” Kanye’s skirt tweeted.

The possible-kilt was a new look for West, who also showed a new side of himself at the show. Kardashian’s boyfriend got sensitive when he performed a short ballad about love before launching into a signature rap song.

West is known for getting wild on stage. He famously stole the microphone during Taylor Swift’s VMA acceptance speech to praise Beyonce.

The artist performed several of his biggest hits, along with many other artists at the 12-12-12 concert, which benefited the Robin Hood Fund for Sandy victims.

Alicia Keys, The Who and Bruce Springsteen were just some of the greats that took the stage before West performed.

New York native Keys closed the show, following Paul McCartney’s set, with her hit “Empire State of Mind.” Surprisingly, West’s buddy Jay-Z was no where to be seen at the Madison Square Garden concert, though he is featured in the Keys hit.
