The National Football League may soon be faced with its first openly gay player – a man who intends to keep playing after coming out.

Football has never had a gay active player in its nearly 100-year history, but some have argued that it’s time for a change.

That change is likely to come sooner rather than later, as a player is reportedly preparing to make a public announcement about his sexual orientation before the 2013 season.

CBS sportswriter Mike Freeman writes: ‘I’m told that a current gay NFL player is strongly considering coming out publicly within the next few months – and after doing so, the player would attempt to continue his career.’

Freeman did not say who the player is or any specifics about when his announcement would be made.

But whoever the player is, he can count on the support of former players like Scott Fujita and active stars like Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe and Baltimore Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo, who are all outspoken LGBT advocates.

Fujita told Freeman: ‘I honestly think the players of the NFL have been ready for an openly gay player for quite some time now.

He added: ‘Trust me, the coming out of a player would create much bigger waves outside the locker room than inside.’

But on the opposite end of the spectrum are opponents and a culture of homophobia.

Days before the Super Bowl, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver was asked about the prospect of gay players in the locker room during a radio interview.

Culliver shot back: ‘I don’t do the gay guys man. I don’t do that.’

When asked if he believed there were any gay players on the 49ers roster, Culliver responded: ‘No, we don’t got no gay people on the team, they gotta get up out of here if they do.’

Culliver later issued a bizarre apology for his remarks, saying that the comments were a ‘reflection of thoughts in my head’ but not representative of how he feels.

A debate about gay players in the NFL was sparked anew in the Manti Te’o ‘fake girlfriend’ hoax, where the former Notre Dame football star claimed that he was the victim of a prankster who was posing as a woman and later faked her death.

It was alleged that Te’o was gay and had invented the online persona in an attempt to cover it up.

He denied he was behind the scam – as well as being gay – in an interview with talk show host Katie Couric.

At the NFL scouting combine earlier this month, Te’o – as well as several other players – were reportedly asked about their sexual orientations.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell called such a line of questioning ‘unacceptable,’ and the New York attorney general has urged the league to investigate.

Michigan quarterback-turned-receiver Denard Robinson, Colorado tight end Nick Kasa and Michigan State running back Le’Veon Bell indicated they were asked about their sexual orientation at the combine earlier this month in Indianapolis.

Why wouldn’t the overly dedicated Kendrick Lamar be concerned with his position in the rap game?

With his guest verse on A$AP Rocky‘s “1 Train,” K-Dot made it clear that playing second fiddle was of no interest to him. “If I’m not the hottest, than hell must’ve froze over,” he spit in a poignant and measured tone.

Well, someone tell Kendrick that the underworld is still intact because the Compton, California, native has just been crowned the Hottest MC in the Game by MTV’s Hip-Hop Brain Trust.

“I think when it’s all said and done, Kendrick Lamar is going to be an important voice of his generation,” said MTV News Senior Hip Hop Writer Rob Markman.

K-Dot earned the #1 spot in a unanimous decision, while 2 Chainz landed in the #2 slot. While both MCs made indelible marks in the last year, it was Kendrick’s artistry and commercial appeal that helped him earn the title. Lyrically, Lamar is an expert spitter who weaves complex rhyme patterns around soul-drenched beats, with as unique a style as rap has seen in years. And while verbal depth isn’t usually a marker for rap success, the Compton rapper moved major units when he dropped his debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d city.

Released in October on Interscope by Top Dawg Entertainment and Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment, the LP earned Kendrick a gold plaque before 2012 was over and is making its way toward platinum status with more than 700,000 units sold to date. The Drake-assisted “Poetic Justice” just crept into the Billboard‘s top 10 on the Rap charts, while his platinum-selling commentary on alcoholism, “Swimming Pools (Drank),” hit #1 on the Rap Songs chart. “Every time you listen to the album you get something new. I was worried that he was such a great lyricist that that wouldn’t translate to sales and then he blew it out of the water,” said RapFix Blog Editor Nadeska Alexis.

Off the strength of his music, Kendrick was able to cross over, making a key appearance on “Saturday Night Live” in January that included a collaboration with comedian Andy Samberg and Maroon 5′s Adam Levine on the iTunes chart-topper “YOLO.”

When it came to collabs, however, there was no question 2 Chainz had the rap game on lock, but what Kendrick lacked in quantity he made up for in quality. He turned up on the final verse of A$AP Rocky’s Billboardbeast “F—in’ Problems” and Schoolboy Q’s deep and penetrating “Blessed.” Then there was Lamar’s headlining run on the BET Music Matters Tour, his European run and a Coachella set that saw him perform alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and the infamous Tupac hologram.

But even with all of the metrics, it’s Kendrick’s impact on the game that he’ll be most remembered for when the hip-hop community looks back on the year. Artistically, good kid was the album with which all albums were measured by in 2012. Not only did it resonate with fans, it was also a commercial success in an era where albums don’t thrive like they used to.

“I think he gives inspiration to the kid whose pen game is serious and maybe he’s not so concerned with what I wear, or the slang or my ad-libs; he’s just going into lyrics,” Markman said. “I think Kendrick is kinda shifting the momentum of hip-hop a little bit.”

The ‘Poker Face’ singer will be resting at home for the next few weeks to recover from the operation she underwent in February after tearing her right hip during her ‘Born This Way Ball’ tour which she was forced to cancel after being left unable to walk.

While she may be holed up at home, Gaga, 26, has found some friends to keep her company, reportedly splashing out thousands of dollars on 27 koi carp.

“Gaga said she’d had a dream about the fish so she had her team source some koi and set up a massive tank,” a source told The Sun.

“The whole exercise cost over £40,000, which is a lot to most people but small change to her.”

Just hours after her surgery, Gaga wrote a touching letter to her fans, crediting them for “giving her strength” to get through the operation.

“Monsters, you really gave me a lot of strength today. Everything happened so fast, but when it came time to face it I reflected on the many stories and experiences you’ve shared with me about your lives,” Gaga wrote on her LittleMonsters.com blog.

“As they wheeled me into surgery today, I thought about all of your pain and perseverance, your unique family situations, school environments, health issues, homelessness, identity struggles, sometimes you are so brave that it terrifies me. I wonder how it’s even possible.”

The rap star insists she has never gone under the knife and that her changing features are all down to dramatic make-up.

“They’ll see contour and they’ll think you had surgery on your nose, no no no, look at RuPaul’s drag race and you’ll see how you can make your nose look any shape you want.

Micheal Jordan being sued and has a surprise 16 year old son! wth

A woman who claims Michael Jordan is the father of her son is suing the star for child support, it has been claimed.

Pamela Smith has apparently filed legal documents demanding that the legendary basketball player submit to a paternity test to prove 16-year-old Taj is his son.

The teenager, who uses the surname Jordan, has in the past taken to the internet to insist that the former Chicago Bulls star is his father.

Ms Smith filed a paternity suit in a court in Fulton County, Georgia three weeks ago, according to TMZ.

In it, she claims that she and Mr Jordan had sex in 1995, when he was married to Juanita Vanoy, with whom he has three children.

She says her son Grant Pierce Jay Jordan Reynolds, known as Taj, was born in June 1996.

Ms Smith insists that Mr Jordan is the boy’s father, and argues in the court documents that he should be forced to undergo a paternity test.

The claimant is seeking child support payments and money for Taj’s medical expenses.

She has also asked the judge handling the case to change her son’s last name to Jordan officially.

In a video posted on YouTube last month, Taj said he was Mr Jordan’s son and claimed he was in touch with the star.

Mr Jordan’s representatives declined to comment on Ms Smith’s claims.

This is not the first time he has been the subject of a paternity suit – in 1991, his former lover Karla Knafel claimed the star was the father of her child, but a DNA test proved that this was not the case.

He is now the owner and chairman of the Charlotte Bobcats, and is engaged to marry Yvette Prieto next month.

NO MORE YVES SAINT LAURENT

The article below is old but this sure has come to pass there is no more yves saint laurent and to be quite honest the new line is ugly as hell it looks like they wanted to get rid of the youth purchasing their clothing, im really pissed. whoever made the decision im sure will see a drastic fall in sales.

After the dust settled from the massive game of Designer Musical Chairs earlier this year (Raf Simons to Dior, Jil Sander to Jil Sander, Hedi Slimane to Yves Saint Laurent, Stefano Pilati to who knows where…), we thought we were done with the major house shake-ups.

But as rumors predicted yesterday, it seems there is yet another big change going on at a major design house: Yves Saint Laurent is dropping the “Yves.” Welcome to the era of Saint Laurent Paris, people.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, Hedi Slimane is looking to push the brand, founded by Yves Saint Laurent himself in 1960, into a more modern, youthful era. The streamlined name would be “Saint Laurent Paris,” although the famous “YSL” logo would remain.

As WWD notes, there is precedent for the name change. Coco Chanel’s house is known simply as “Chanel” and the house of Christian Dior is branded as “Dior” in most places, including on most of the company’s online properties.

But Yves Saint Laurent, some might argue, is a more modern icon, one who only died four years ago. While he was alive he struggled with handing over his house to successors, unhappy with how his heirs, including Tom Ford, re-envisioned his eponymous brand. (Saint Laurent once wrote to Ford, “In 13 minutes on the runway you have destroyed 40 years of my career.”) Given Saint Laurent’s strong attachment to his brand and the stress he endured seeing it transformed, cutting part of his moniker out of the brand name may be deemed insensitive.

American rapper Azealia Banks has become embroiled in a bitter Twitter row with Perez Hilton after slapping her own verses over the top of DJ Baauers’ Harlem Shake.

The 21-year-old let rip in a bizarre foul-mouthed rant on the social networking site after her version of the hit track was removed from Soundcloud – branding the New York producer a ‘f****t’ and accusing him of ‘c**kblocking’.

Her fiery comments have divided fans, with US blogger Perez taking offence, telling the rapper she is becoming known for her vitriolic rants rather than her music.

She added: ‘Here we go again. Everyone pretending to be so shocked and moved by the word faggot. It’s like society is so bored with itself it needs to hold on to these outdated rules of what you can say and cannot say.’

This situation is a perfect example of how difficult it is to be a female who raps.

The Harlem Shake began as a dance in the 1980s but the latest version featured on a flood of online videos is an electronic dance track by 23-year-old Brooklyn DJ Baauer who released the single last year with the record label Mad Decent.

The video starts with one person, often masked, dancing while everyone else in the room pays no attention but when the chorus kicks in they all join in, usually wearing crazy costumes or with props like blow-up giraffes or bicycles.

YouTube said the craze appeared to have started with a posting by a vlogger and spread quickly, with more than 12,000 Harlem Shake videos posted from the start of the month to mid-week watched up to 44 million times.

Harlem Shake has a way to go to top Gangnam Style which made history last December when it became the first ever video on YouTube to reach 1 billion views.

So far, she has had over 50 injections and at the beginning of the show she estimates that it will take another 36 before she gets the body she wants.

Illegal butt injections have increased in the past years with many black market operators using anything from glue to soy bean oil and industry grade silicone.

The cheap alternative to plastic surgery has become popular among transsexuals and in the African American community.

Those carrying out the procedures, known as ‘shot girls’ take around $300 per injection compared to professional plastic surgery which can cost around $12,000.

In the disturbing episode of the TLC show Karmello’s friend Vanity Wonder, author of book Shots Girls who herself spent over $15,000 on illegal butt and hip injections, tries to warn Karmello of the risks.

Vanity, who nearly died after contracting an infection from a shot, tells her she needs to stop the dangerous practice.

After Karmello’s sister Jennifer also pleads with her to stop for the sake of her four-year-old son, Karmello visits plastic surgeon Dr Anthony Youn.

Dr Youn shows her an x-ray of her behind and points out that the fat is ‘sponge-like’ and warns her the next injection could kill her.

After she has seen the images of her behind, Karmello decides to fight her addiction and stop the injections.

Tiger woods loans his plane to he new BIOTCHHHHH!

Man, it’s tough being a global celebrity. You do a friend a favor by sending them a plane, as friends do, and all of a sudden the press is all over it, making a big deal. Can’t a multimillionaire get a little peace?

By now you’ve probably heard that Tiger Woodsallegedly sent his plane to help Lindsey Vonn get home following her injury during the world championships in Austria. TMZ snapped Vonn boarding the plane, and other outlets, includingthe Swiss tabloid-eseque newspaper Blick (as cited by Ski Racing Magazine) also reported that the plane was Woods’. While planes are indeed trackable and identifiable by their tail numbers, Woods’ plane is private and therefore does not register its travels, and as you can see above, there’s no plane number visible in that photo.

Woods and Vonn have been the subject of plenty of rumors; Woods’ story you know, and Vonn finalized her divorce in January. So there you go. However, Woods has made no public statement on the matter, and Vonn actually released a statement trying to shut down the rumors:

“Lindsey is currently in the midst of the World Cup season in Europe,” the statement read. “Her focus is solely on competing and on defending her titles and thus she will not participate in any speculation surrounding her personal life at this time.”

Woods isn’t scheduled to play again for several weeks. We’re certain that he’ll be forthcoming about his private life at his next press conference.

One moment Ray Lewis was offering his opinions on imaginary girlfriends. The next he was fielding a question about murder. Welcome to Media Day – the annual pre-Super Bowl press conference which grew up to become a spectator event in its own right. A place where grizzled beat reporters compete with men in clown costumes for the right to put questions to NFL stars.

A record 5,205 journalists were credentialed for this year’s Media Day, and as usual some came in fancy dress. One man in a referee’s uniform set about challenging players to replicate the dance which Lewis performs as he enters the field. Another simply walked around trying to get players to put on his fuzzy purple wig.

At times it felt as though everyone had come solely to speak to Lewis. The scrum around the Baltimore linebacker’s podium dwarfed even that which had greeted San Francisco’s emerging superstar Colin Kaepernick.

Lewis certainly had plenty to say, but only on subjects he felt like discussing. The linebacker reflected at length on faith and leadership, but gave short shrift to journalists who wanted to know more about a Sports Illustrated report this week which claimed he had discussed using a banned substance in his recovery from a torn triceps injury.

After flatly denying the allegation, Lewis insisted the story was “not worthy of the press”. He gave similarly short shrift to a question about the incident which saw him plead guilty to obstruction of justice following the deaths of two men outside an Atlanta nightclub in 2000, saying: “Nobody here is really qualified to ask those questions.”

More willing to take on difficult topics was Lewis’s team-mate Bernard Pollard, who re-affirmed his previously stated belief that the NFL would be dead within three decades. It is Pollard’s contention that rules to increase player safety will ultimately drive fans away – though he has also acknowledged that injuries are only likely to get worse as players get bigger and stronger.

Player welfare was a hot topic across both sessions at Media Day – as first San Francisco, then Baltimore reacted to Barack Obama’s suggestion that he might not want a child of his to play football. Most disagreed with the president’s stance. The 49ers defensive end Aldon Smith went as far as to say he would not walk away from the sport even if certain that carrying on would leave him with long-term brain damage:

“No, I wouldn’t stop. I love the game. I’d probably just tell my girlfriend, or wife, or whoever: ‘Baby, in a couple of years I’m going to have a problem, so hopefully you understand what’s going on.’”

Not all the conversations taking place inside the Superdome were quite so weighty. Randy Moss provided one of the day’s headline moments when declaring himself to be the best receiver of all time, shortly before likening himself to Michael Jackson.

“I think it was [Jackson's] sister or his brother — one of them said, Michael just always wanted to be normal. I’m not putting myself on Michael Jackson’s pedestal, but I kind of understood where they were coming from. I always wanted to be able to go to the park and play a game or go shopping or go to the grocery store. I’ve always wanted to be normal.”

Moss was in entertaining form – joking at times but speaking candidly at others. Asked how he would describe the 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, he dead-panned: “A coach”. Questioned about his role in the San Francisco offense he was brutally honest, saying: “I don’t like my role; I don’t. I like to be out there playing football.”

It was a stark contrast with Kaepernick, sat just a few yards away. For all his qualities as an athlete, the 49ers quarterback did not emerge from Media Day as an especially compelling speaker – limiting himself often to clipped, one-sentence responses. More engaging, indeed, was the man that he replaced.

Alex Smith was not afforded one of the 17 designated player podiums – instead left to wander the floor of the Superdome along with the rest of the team’s back-ups and bit-part players. He did not get far before being mobbed by a pack of journalists hungry for a whiff of dissent. Instead what they found was a player who acknowledged being devastated to lose his job, but conveyed a genuine determination to put the team first. Smith dismissed the notion that he might hope for Kaepernick to play poorly and lose as: “disgusting”.

“Why do you play football? Why do you play a team sport? If this is all about yourself go play golf, go play tennis or something. Why did you get into team sport in the first place? I’m not saying this has all been easy, it definitely hasn’t. But if you can’t be happy for your team-mates’ success, there’s something wrong with you.”

Smith sought to deflect questions about his future, saying that there would be “plenty of time” to talk about that once the season was over and denying reports he had already requested to be released after the Super Bowl. His efforts were in vain, NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reportinglater in the evening that the team would cut Smith unless they could find a suitable trade partner very swiftly.

Nevertheless, on a day of silly questions and childish costumes, Smith had handled himself with a rare maturity.

50 cent talks Keef GOES BACK TO JAIL

News broke out yesterday that Chief Keef was sent to jail for violating his probation. In an interview with MTV News, Fif shared his thoughts on the situation, saying that he knew it was going to happen. He continued by stating that he hasn’t spoken to Keef, but wishes him the best.

“I think he has something, obviously. Even within the systems no one has done nothing for Chief Keef. He’s still just raw talent because he shot all his music videos in the living room. He hasn’t had a music video that cost more than $4,000, so that should indicate to other raw talent out there that they can do it with the means that they have around them.”

Kim Kardashian is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Kanye West the reality star’s representative confirmed the happy news to MailOnline.

The pregnancy was revealed by Kanye onstage during a concert in Atlantic City on Sunday night as Kim watched.

The rapper said ‘stop the music’, then announced ‘make noise for my baby mama right here,’ with a wide smile. Kanye’s announcement prompted a flurry of excited tweets from the audience.

Kim, who was sat in the audience during the show, is said to have not known that her man who reveal their pregnancy and was in shock like many of the rappers fans.

Kim, 32, and Kanye, 35, were last seen together on Christmas Day when they attended a basketball game to watch Kim’s brother-in-law Lamar Odom play with his new team The Clippers.

Kanye was seen carefully attending to his girlfriend and holding her hand as they sat side by side in the front row. They left at half time, with Kim later tweeting that she felt ‘unwell’.

According to TMZ Kim will earn a six-figure sum for the appearance with tickets costing $125 for entry into the VIP area and $3,000 for a table the website reports.

Kim is still married to her estranged second husband Kris Humphries. The pair’s divorce has been prolonged as the basketball star has insisted on a court case, claiming the marriage should be annulled as it was ‘fraud’.

After the news of Kim’s pregnancy broke late on Sunday her excited family took to Twitter.

Sister Kourtney wrote: ‘Been wanting to shout from the rooftops with joy and now I can! Another angel to welcome to our family. Overwhelmed with excitement!’

Kanye spent the Christmas period with Kim’s family, who have welcomed him with open arms.

Kim has also become close to Kanye’s family after being he took her to visit them in Oklahoma City while visiting his mother Donda West’s grave last month.

Since Kim and Kanye began dating in April they have rarely been apart.

Despite the shortness of their relationship, the two have been friends for years.

It has even been speculated that the rapper had been in love with Kim back in 2009, when he appeared to refer to her in his track Knock You Down.

In scenes later broadcast on her reality show Kris Jenner was seen jokingly criticising Kanye for eyeing up Kim, telling him: ‘Don’t be looking at her a**’.

Not one to miss a beat, quick-witted Kanye replied: ‘I’ve never seen it actually.’

Shaquille O’Neal is launching his own line of vodka — sensationally titled “Luv Shaq.” The former NBA star plans to launch the brand early next year, and for all those barroom athletes, it is sugar- and gluten-free. We’re told Luv Shaq comes in coconut flavor, and the bottle features an image of O’Neal with giant wings. Drew Adelman, founder of Devotion Vodka, which is producing Shaq’s sauce, tells us it will directly compete with Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Ciroc, but at a “more competitive price.”

Kanye wear skirt for 12-12-12 concert, lets remeber diddy skirt too! hmmmmm

Anything can happen when Kanye West takes the stage. But thankfully, at the 12-12-12 concert for Sandy relief it was just West’s bold fashion choice that shocked fans.

He wore a black leather skirt-like bottom over his pants paired with a black hoodie while he performed at the benefit concert.

The kilt bottom swayed back and forth as West jumped around the stage rapping hits like “Gold Digger” and “Touch the Sky.”

One twitter user quipped: “Kanye must have swapped suitcases with Kim Kardashian.”

But Kanye’s skirt had the last Twitter laugh when it joined Twitter and racked up over 1,000 followers by morning.

“Nothing but the finest pleather money can buy. Yeah, i’m fly,” Kanye’s skirt tweeted.

The possible-kilt was a new look for West, who also showed a new side of himself at the show. Kardashian’s boyfriend got sensitive when he performed a short ballad about love before launching into a signature rap song.

West is known for getting wild on stage. He famously stole the microphone during Taylor Swift’s VMA acceptance speech to praise Beyonce.

The artist performed several of his biggest hits, along with many other artists at the 12-12-12 concert, which benefited the Robin Hood Fund for Sandy victims.

Alicia Keys, The Who and Bruce Springsteen were just some of the greats that took the stage before West performed.

New York native Keys closed the show, following Paul McCartney’s set, with her hit “Empire State of Mind.” Surprisingly, West’s buddy Jay-Z was no where to be seen at the Madison Square Garden concert, though he is featured in the Keys hit.
