Miami Heat!!!

May 17th, 2012 | By love not hate

When the Miami Heat lost Game 2 of their series with the Indiana Pacers, fans and media that have always been quick to mock Chris Bosh’s contributions suddenly changed course. Bosh miraculously transformed into a key cog in the Heat lineup whose absence severely crippled his team’s chances of victory. LeBron James acknowledged that playing out of position at the power forward was “taxing” and probably contributed to his end-of-game passivity.

More than anything else, his absence revealed the lack of depth in the Miami Heat roster. Beyond the talented trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Bosh, the rest of the role players have not stepped up. Udonis Haslem and Shane Battier both had career low shooting percentages in 2011-12, despite having more open looks. Playing with three superstars should open up acres of space on the court, but perhaps age is catching up to them.

Besides the Big 3, the rest of the Heat roster has combined for 21 and 23 points in Games 1 and 2 respectively. With that kind of continued lack of production from their role players, the Heat will struggle to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Dwyane Wade largely avoids the massive criticism heaped on LeBron after every loss, probably because he has already led a team to a championship. On the other hand, LeBron must carry the burden of every great player who hasn’t won a championship and will face unfair criticism from all sides until he gets one. Missing free throws, giving the ball up, and disengaging during the fourth quarter has become a worrying habit. But one can’t help but remember his spectacular performances in the postseason series against the Celtics and Bulls last spring when he was the best player on the court by a wide margin. That’s what makes his occasional fourth quarter disappearing act so frustrating.

It will be interesting to see where LeBron plays in Game 3 in Indiana, and what adjustments Erik Spoelstra makes to his rotation. The home crowd will be amped for the Heat’s arrival, but as the Boston Celtics showed Wednesday night it is possible to snatch back momentum in a mere 48 minutes.

Who’s the TOP power couple in the industry? SHOCKING RESULTS!

gty brad pitt angelina jolie 120226 wblog Brangelina, Beyonce and Jay Z, or Bundchen and Brady: Whos the Top Power Couple on Forbes Celebrity 100?

Forbes just released its yearly list of the 100 most influential celebrities, and the results might surprise.

The top spot — in a list containing Oprah Winfrey, Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg — went to Jennifer Lopez.

It was power to the pop stars, with six of the top 10 spots being grabbed by singers – teen idol Justin Bieber landed at number three.

The dark horses included Ray Romano, who doesn’t currently have a show on the air but rakes it in from reruns. There were some newcomers, like electronic music maestro Skrillex, and a lot of comedians and comedic actors made the list, among them: Ben Stiller, Larry the Cable Guy, Tina Fey and Melissa McCarthy.

The list — which Forbes says reflect money, publicity and social media buzz — also includes three couples: Angelina Jolie (13) and Brad Pitt (28), Beyonce Knowles (16) and Jay-Z (38), and Gisele Bundchen (61) and Tom Brady (60).

So which is the prime pair?

  • This year Jolie released her directorial debut with “In the Land of Blood and Honey,” her legs nearly stole the show at the Oscars. While her new fiancé was nominated for his role in “Moneyball,” their impending marriage is attracting immense buzz.
  • Jay-Z and Beyonce’s baby buzz wasn’t exactly tiny. Their combined power was enough to shut down a whole maternity ward – and they even trademarked Blue Ivy’s name.
  • Bundchen is ubiquitous as the world’s top supermodel, plus she inflamed New England Patriots fans when she lashed out at hubby Tom Brady’s teammates after their Super Bowl loss.

If you add the individual rankings to form a crude combined ranking of these supercouples, Brangelina wins (41), with Beyonce and Jay-Z coming in second (54) and Gisele and Tom in third (121).

But some might say publicity is nebulous, and social media buzz is mere hype that doesn’t really mean much yet to those outside Silicon Valley and New York City. That leaves cold, hard cash — which Forbes estimates in a column showing each celebrity’s yearly earnings.

Accolades and bridal buzz aside, the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Jolie-Pitt (or Pitt, or Pitt-Jolie, or whatever) pulled in $45 million.

Between Gisele’s fashion empire and Brady’s football throwing — not catching — prowess, Bundchen and Brady manage an upset, coming in number two with $72 million.

But Beyonce and Jay-Z topped them both, racking up $78 million ways to make sure Baby-Z never has to worry about a thing.

Rihanna’s Sexual black and white Esquire spread

May 17th, 2012 | By love not hate

She’s certainly no stranger to showing some skin in various sexy shoots.

And it looks as though Rihanna’s upcoming spread in Britain’s Esquire magazine is no different.

In a sneak peek of the shoot, due to hit newstands on June 4th, Rihanna is seen looking both sexy and sultry as she goes topless.

Protecting her modesty by wrapping one arm around her chest, the singer wears just a pair of jeans and a fez hat in the shots, taken by Melissa Forde when the singer was in the UK in February.

In another shot, Rihanna wears a sexy bondage-style all-in-one, flicking her blonde hair as she shows off her curves.

And it seems as though the We Found Love singer had a good time on the east London set of the shoot, as she is seen giggling and laughing while wrapped up in a patterned top in between takes.

The stunning photographs of Rihanna, taken from the upcoming July edition of the magazine, come as the singer has been linked to New York Knicks star J.R. Smith, after the pair were apparently spotting kissing at Veranda nightclub in New York earlier this month.

A source told In Touch Weekly magazine: ‘They were very flirty in the club all night and holding hands. She was sitting on his lap and was really into him.’

The sportsman is a controversial figure, as in March he was fined $25,000 by the National Basketball Association (NBA) after tweeting a photo wearing just a thong in his bed.

A source said: ‘He is the team’s most controversial player, so it’s no wonder that Rihanna likes him.’

John Travolta tries to give head to man while he was asleep???

May 17th, 2012 | By love not hate

John Travolta tried to give his Grease co-star Jeff Conaway oral sex while he was sleeping, it has been claimed.

Travolta allegedly tried to perform the act at Conaway’s home in the 1990s, Conaway’s former fiancée Vikki Lizzi told the National Enquirer.

She said that her partner, who played Kenickie in the 1978 hit movie, was so upset with the incident it ended his long-term friendship with the star.

She said Conaway, who appeared in Grease on Broadway with Travolta before the pair were cast in the film, made the claim in a suicide note.

It was left, she said, after a failed bid to kill himself in 2006. He died last May, aged 60, from complications of pneumonia.

She also alleged that Conaway said Travolta, 58, and his wife, Kelly Preston, were locked in a sham marriage.

She told Star magazine: ‘Jeff told me that John and Kelly’s marriage was an arrangement.

‘Jeff said that Kelly knows that John is gay, and that’s why she’s OK with it.’

Another source alleged in Star that Preston signed a contract with Travolta when they were wed, though the source did not know its details.

The claims came as another hotel masseur claimed he had a homosexual tryst with John Travolta.

Unlike the first two – one of whom withdrew his lawsuit on Tuesday and the first accuser who dropped his case – this latest man to come forward with gay sex claims involving the actor is named.

Former massage therapist Luis Gonzalez said he spent an afternoon with the Pulp Fiction star at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Laguna Niguel, California, in 1997.

Meanwhile, another unnamed man made claims yesterday that Travolta accosted him – making it the fifth man to make allegations about the star.

The man – a gym employee – has accused Travolta of fondling him against his wishes when he worked out at the gym while he was shooting a movie, according to RadarOnline.

However no details were reported regarding the time frame or location. Travolta’s lawyer Marty Singer has denied the allegations.

Last week Fabian Zanzi became the third man to accuse Travolta of accosting him back in 2009 while he was working on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship.

Gonzalez made his claims to the National Enquirer magazine in the US, saying of the actor: ‘He’s a great kisser. I know because I had sex with him and he loved it.’

He also claimed that the married actor seemed ‘very experienced’ at gay sex. ‘I can remember it like it happened yesterday,’ he added.

The masseur said the rendezvous started minutes after he set up his table in Mr Travolta’s room.

The actor reportedly stripped down and said it was too warm for a top sheet.

Mr Gonzalez described how Travolta became aroused soon after lying on the table.

‘He moved around and started to breathe heavily,’ he alleged.

‘We got right into the bed that was right there next to the massage table and had a really good time.’

The 49-year-old, who is now living overseas, said he had massaged the actor several times since first meeting him in 1988 without anything sexual happening.

‘Travolta may not identify himself as a gay man, but it doesn’t dismiss the fact that he likes sex with men .. and he’s experienced at it,’ he claimed.

‘I was in shock for about a week afterward thinking, ‘I can’t believe it! I had sex with John Travolta! I was hoping to see him again after that, but I never did,’ he alleged in the Enquirer.

The first masseur who claimed last week that he was groped by Mr Travolta during a private massage in Beverly Hills in January was forced to drop his case after it emerged that the actor was 3,000 miles away in New York at the time of the alleged incident.

But he hired celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred yesterday and was said to be considering whether or not to refile the lawsuit.

‘We are in the process of conferring with him regarding the next steps, which he may wish to take,’ Ms Allred said yesterday.

The other massage therapist accused Mr. Travolta of sexual misconduct at an Atlanta hotel in January.

The star’s lawyer has denied the claims.

R.I.P Chuck Brown

May 16th, 2012 | By love not hate

Chuck Brown, the gravelly voiced bandleader who capitalized on funk’s percussive pulse to create go-go, the genre of music that has soundtracked life in black Washington for more than three decades, died May 16 at the Johns Hopkins University hospital in Baltimore. He was 75.The death was confirmed by his manager Tom Goldfogle. The Washington Post reported earlier this month that Mr. Brown had been hospitalized for pneumonia.

Known as the “Godfather of Go-Go,” the performer, singer, guitarist and songwriter developed his commanding brand of funk in the mid-1970s to compete with the dominance of disco.

Like a DJ blending records, Mr. Brown used nonstop percussion to stitch songs together and keep the crowd on the dance floor, resulting in marathon performances that went deep into the night. Mr. Brown said the style got its name because “the music just goes and goes.”

In addition to being go-go’s principal architect, Mr. Brown remained the genre’s most charismatic figure. On stage, his spirited call-and-response routines became a hallmark of the music, reinforcing a sense of community that allowed the scene to thrive. As go-go became a point of pride for black Washingtonians, Mr. Brown became one of the city’s most recognizable figures.

“No single type of music has been more identified with Washington than go-go, and no one has loomed so large within it as Chuck Brown,” former Washington Post pop music critic Richard Harrington wrote in 2001.

Mr. Brown’s creation, however, failed to have the same impact outside of the Beltway. The birth of go-go doubled as the high watermark of Mr. Brown’s national career. With his group the Soul Searchers, his signature hit “Bustin’ Loose” not only minted the go-go sound, it spent four weeks atop the R&B singles chart in 1978.

“Bustin’ Loose” was “the one record I had so much confidence in,” Mr. Brown told The Post in 2001. “I messed with it for two years, wrote a hundred lines of lyrics and only ended up using two lines. . . . It was the only time in my career that I felt like it’s going to be a hit.”

It was Mr. Brown’s biggest single, but throughout the 1980s “We Need Some Money,” “Go-Go Swing” and “Run Joe” became local anthems, reinforced by radio support and the grueling performance schedule that put Mr. Brown on area stages six nights a week.

While rap music exploded across the country, go-go dominated young black Washington, with groups including Trouble Funk, Rare Essence and Experience Unlimited following in Mr. Brown’s footsteps.

Mr. Brown performed less frequently in his final years but still took the stage regularly. He would often comment on his golden years in rhyme.

“I’m not retired because I’m not tired. I’m still getting hired and I’m still inspired,” he said in 2006. “As long as I can walk up on that stage, I want to make people happy. I want to make people dance.”

Charles Louis Brown was born in Gaston, N.C., on Aug. 22, 1936. He never knew his father, Albert Louis Moody, a Marine. He took the surname of his mother, Lyla Louise Brown, a housekeeper who raised her several children in poverty.

May 16th, 2012 | By love not hate

Nas, Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa, Salt-N-Pepa will also play three-date tour

Organizers Guerilla Union has announced the lineup for this year’s Rock the Bells three-stop festival series, which is stacked with several generations of hip-hop talent. Though Kid Cudi, Nas, and Wiz Khalifa share top billing on the lineup poster, Missy Elliott and Timbaland, the Hit Squad (EPMD, Redman, K-Solo, and Keith Murray), and Salt-N-Pepa will all join the bicoastal, three-weekend stadium tour. Bone Pugz Thugs-N-Harmony will reunite for their 20th anniversary to pay tribute to Eazy-E and perform E. 1999 Eternal in its entirety. As RTB vets, Wu-Tang members are all over the bill too, as Redman and Method Man wlll do their 1999 debut Blackout in full. RZA will “host” the series.

As a refresher: Rock the Bells started in 2004 as a SoCal-only festival, branched out to Northern California in 2006, and since has taken multiple forms and visited multiple U.S. cities. This year’s fest will hit its hometown, San Bernadino, California, August 18-19, then travel up north to Mountain View, California on August 25-26, and finally jet out to Holmdel, New Jersey on September 1-2. The Jersey date, as Miss Info points out, will take place over Labor Day weekend just minutes from Philly, where Jay-Z will be trying on his curation hat with Budweiser Made in America fest.

My rap aint bout KIM, KANYE explains!

May 16th, 2012 | By love not hate

An insider says talk of a wedding for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, above at a recent Lakers game, is premature.

KANYE WEST may have some explaining to do if he’s telling Kim Kardashian the lyrics to his latest song are about her. A source close to West tells us the new rap — which the media has referred to as “White Dress” and, at this point, seems to consist solely of lyrics — isn’t about Kardashian at all, but rather “an ex-love interest.” According to the source, “those lyrics were done like two weeks before” Kanye and Kim started seeing each other in mid-March. The rap, which includes the line, “now she back in the club in a tight dress with dreams of someday wearing a white dress” have fueled speculation that West and Kardashian are already talking about tying the knot. But our source says that’s not the case, noting that Yeezy was linked to a number of models, at least one actress and other assorted beauties before hooking up with Kardashian and creating a media frenzy.
