After raising eyebrows by unleashing a direct shot at men’s current fashion and targeting Kanye West as a trendsetter over Instagram, Brand Nubian’s Lord Jamar has hit up SOHH to explain his comment.
“First of all, it’s not just jabs at Kanye West,” Jamar explained to SOHH. “It’s anybody promoting the feminization — of the Black man in hip-hop culture. Anybody that I see out there, rocking dresses and all of that type of sh*t, I might shoot a jab at. But Kanye is one of the ones right now that’s representing that movement. He’s one of the first ones that you see in a skirt. Now you got other people following suit and rocking full-out dresses or they’re trying to rock kilts. We’re not Irish. We’re not Europeans. Rocking kilts and all that is just another excuse to introduce that skirt style. You understand what I’m saying? And I’m not with it. This has nothing to do with sexuality, who they choose to be with and all that, I’m not even talking about that. I’m talking specifically about, what is hip-hop? And that’s not hip-hop. Rocking dresses with mean faces, that’s not hip-hop.” (SOHH)
Jamar hopped onto his Instagram page over the weekend to give his take on men’s skirts.

Last month, Mr. West sparked outbursts from R&B singer Chris Brown and Dipset’s Cam’ron after rocking a kilt during the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy relief televised special.
Two of Kanye West’s former confidants are slamming his wardrobe choice at last week’s 12/12/12 Benefit Concert in New York. There were at least two people who didn’t find it all that funny: R&B singer Chris Brown and Harlem rapper, Cam’ron. “That sh*t suspect. Can’t get with that swag. Cam initially started the anti-kilt tweets days prior to Brown.
Killa didn’t tred lightly last night during Kanye West’s 12.12.12 concert performance. The Diplomat took a moment to call out Kanye West and his fashion via Twitter. “Pyrex and a skirt? Sh*t ain’t adding up And if u co-sign this I’m blocking u!! Straight up. Ima have to save us.” This isn’t the first time Kanye West broke out the leather kilt or as most call it, a skirt. The G.O.O.D. Music general performed numerous times with this very look (minus the hoodie) during the very successful Watch The Throne tour. Yeezy’s gear also reportedly motivated someone to create a Twitter account in its honor.
The look Wednesday night, however, elicited chatter and Tweets from fashion police all over including this less than flattering response from New York rapper, Cam’ron. According to FOX news, Kanye’s Skirt now has a Twitter account and by Thursday morning had garnered 1,000 followers. This is too much. Crazy – although I must say his performance was pretty phenomenal. He performed a nice selection of his hits from “Jesus Walks” to “Gold Digger” The performance was filled with the artist’s best work. (Philly)

Leonardo DiCaprio may have lost the Golden Globe for his role inDjango Unchained, but that didn’t stop the actor from enjoying himself a few nights later.
Alongside best friend Lukas Haas, DiCaprio visited West Hollywood hot spot Bootsy Bellows on Tuesday night.
Donning a newsboy hat, DiCaprio mingled with club promoters, while Haas did “his own thing,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE. “Leo hung back and sat on top of the banquette. He was getting a ton of attention from the ladies.”
The usually quiet DiCaprio was “upbeat” and “even danced and clapped along” as music from Jay-Z and Kanye West played. And when the actor was approached by other clubgoers, he was “very gracious and chatted with them for a few minutes,” the source adds.
Once the lights came on, the two friends reconvened to figure out their plans for the rest of the night.

Things are certainly serious between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Not only have they allegedly contemplated moving in with each other, but Kanye West purchased a cell phone to keep better in contact with Kim!
Kanye wouldn’t carry a cellphone before his relationship with Kim. But according to US Weekly, not having one “frustrated Kim.” Before his technology upgrade, “She had to call him through his bodyguard.” Only Kim has the number.

“We were kind of dating and she said, ‘I can kind of cook good’. She’s the first girl that’s ever cooked a meal for me. That’s honestly how she got me – with the food! She cooked one of my favorite meals, corn bread, macaroni and cheese, candy yams and fried chicken and it was ridiculously good.”

No one is safe in Theraflu; K-West drops names from Anna Wintour to ex Amber Rose and her new fiancee Wiz Khalifa.
AND he confesses his love for Kim Kardashian.
The sound is nothing that new or surprising from Le Egoist, but it’s repetitive and clean…not too overproduced, no auto tune to speak of.
YES! We hope this is an indicator that Kanye is slowly moving back towards his old tricks!
We understand it’s all about discovering new ways of doing music and progression, and blah, blah, but there’s no denying Kanye’s raw talent.

Watch The Throne is burning up the iTunes chart but that doesn’t mean anything when you can’t watch your feet. In a recent concert in Norway, rapper Kanye West fell on stage during his performance of the popular song All Of The Lights. Perhaps it was literally, all of the lights, that caused him to trip over his feet and fall on stage. Kanye was just about to take somebody to that ghetto university when he fell. Of course Kanye’s big, bold, confident attitude allowed him to get right back up and continue on with his performance. Jay-Z’s Manager: “Watch the Throne” will Not Leak

With less than a week to go before Watch the Throne hits iTunes, don’t expect any leaks. Those hoping to get their hands on Jay-Z and Kanye West’s collaborative album early are in for disappointment.
“It is not going to leak,” tweeted a confident John Meneilly, Jay-Z’s manager. In order to prevent the album from leaking in advance, digital and physical release dates were staggered.
Throne, which boasts contributions from Beyoncé, Q-Tip, Frank Ocean, Swizz Beatz, and more, will be available exclusively on iTunes on August 8 and at all digital and physical retailers on August 12.
The Otis Redding-sampled single “Otis” is already off to a good start, moving 47-12 on the Billboard Hot 100 in its second week. The album remains in the top 3 on iTunes based on pre-orders alone.
Tickets for the rap titans’ joint tour were available for pre-sale on Tuesday, while the general public will be able to purchase tickets starting August 8.

Kanye West & Wiz Khalifa Almost Come To Blows Over Amber Rose

Last night at the Coachella music festival, Kanye West brought down the stage with a two hour performance dedicated to his mother Donda West. In what people are calling his best performance since his mother died, Kanye is alleged to have taken a shot at Amber Rose who was standing 75 feet away from him. During the song “Stronger” instead of saying “I’ll do anything for a blonde dike and she’ll do anything if the times right” Kanye said “I did anything for that blonde dike and she did anything when the times right.” Mediatakeout.com reports that Wiz Khalifah “confronted” Kanye when he left the stage. According to one of their insiders “Wiz didn’t want to fight, he just wanted all this catty bullsh*t to end.” Kanye sought otherwise though; “Kanye said something to Wiz and next thing you know security and people’s entourages were everywhere pushing and shoving, it could have got real ugly.”

Rocking a pair of Uggs…with a Birkin bag in one hand and a camera crew on the other, Kim Kardashian is shooting a video with Kanye West. No…not that kind of video. It’s for her new single.
Kim Kardashian has been hard at work on a new album with The Dream and now she’s ready to shoot her first video. Well….second video if you include Ray J.According to TMZ, the video will be directed by Hype Williams and feature Kanye West. They both arrived on the set earlier today.
Can’t wait to see what Hype comes up with.
