Rihanna’s Sexual black and white Esquire spread

May 17th, 2012 | By love not hate

She’s certainly no stranger to showing some skin in various sexy shoots.

And it looks as though Rihanna’s upcoming spread in Britain’s Esquire magazine is no different.

In a sneak peek of the shoot, due to hit newstands on June 4th, Rihanna is seen looking both sexy and sultry as she goes topless.

Protecting her modesty by wrapping one arm around her chest, the singer wears just a pair of jeans and a fez hat in the shots, taken by Melissa Forde when the singer was in the UK in February.

In another shot, Rihanna wears a sexy bondage-style all-in-one, flicking her blonde hair as she shows off her curves.

And it seems as though the We Found Love singer had a good time on the east London set of the shoot, as she is seen giggling and laughing while wrapped up in a patterned top in between takes.

The stunning photographs of Rihanna, taken from the upcoming July edition of the magazine, come as the singer has been linked to New York Knicks star J.R. Smith, after the pair were apparently spotting kissing at Veranda nightclub in New York earlier this month.

A source told In Touch Weekly magazine: ‘They were very flirty in the club all night and holding hands. She was sitting on his lap and was really into him.’

The sportsman is a controversial figure, as in March he was fined $25,000 by the National Basketball Association (NBA) after tweeting a photo wearing just a thong in his bed.

A source said: ‘He is the team’s most controversial player, so it’s no wonder that Rihanna likes him.’

Rihanna strippers

Raunchy pop star Rihanna has risked shocking her young fans yet again by showing off pictures of her cavorting with strippers. The Umbrella hitmaker posted two images on her Twitter page showing her in a nightclub handing out cash to scantily-clad dancers. In one shot, she throws dollars at two women as they simulate oral sex, and in the other the singer, wearing a sweater and denim shorts, holds a drink between her teeth and counts out more money as a blonde cavorts in front of her. Alongside the images, Rihanna posted a series of mocking messages, telling fans, “Best stress reliever = $tripper$. Kill it Tip it… ROCstars**t my daddy would be proud… RoleModelS**t.” The Bajan beauty has been embroiled in a series of scandals this year after tweeting photos of her pouring a suspicious-looking powder on a male pal’s head and apparently smoking marijuana on holiday in Hawaii. Rihanna ‘Cried Laughing’ At James Franco’s

May 1st, 2012 | By love not hate

Rihanna and James Franco might want to get a room. These two have been gushing about one another all over the press — but, it’s just business.

MTV News caught up with Franco at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where he opened up about almost being cast in Ri’s “We Found Love” video and how the pair might eventually appear together in the flick “The Apocalypse.” RiRi later revealed that she’s just as big a fan of Franco’s work as he is of hers. How big of a fan is he? Well, the actor recently released a viral video of himself lip-syncing “You Da One.”

“I love James Franco,” Rihanna told MTV News during “MTV First: Battleship.” Referring to the online video of Franco singing his heart out to her Dr. Luke-produced Talk That Talk single, she added, “Someone sent this to me via Twitter, and I watched that. I cried laughing.”

After learning that the frizzy-haired man in the clip was indeed the Oscar-nominated actor, Rihanna couldn’t believe he knew her music that well. “First of all, I didn’t recognize that it was him like that, and then I didn’t recognize it was him singing my song,” she said. “And it was kind of cool because I’m a huge fan of James Franco, so it was dope to know that he even knew my record.”

About the chatter that she might appear with Franco in Seth Rogen’s movie “The Apocalypse,” well, that is still up in the air. But if she should join him, she might be playing one of the celebs partying at Franco’s house when they learn the apocalypse is coming. “That’s in the works,” she said. “I can’t really say. Nothing’s confirmed, but it’s open, and we’re interested.”

Check out everything we’ve got on “Battleship.”

RIHANNA NEW MOVIE ROLE

April 4th, 2012 | By love not hate

With the much-anticipated “Battleship” set to release May 18, some are still skeptical as to whether Rihanna can make a successful transition from music to film. But even in the beginning stages of the movie, director Peter Berg never doubted the pop singer’s talent.

“I’m a big believer in musicians-turned-actor,” Berg told MTV News, proceeding to list many of the musicians who went on to make it on the big screen.

“You could do a great MTV special about all the musicians that have acted,” he continued. “It starts for me with Frank Sinatra, who won an Oscar for a movie called ‘From Here to Eternity.’ Mick Jagger was in a film called ‘Performance.’ David Bowie was in ‘The Man Who Fell to Earth.’ Liza Minnelli, Barbra Streisand. Did you see a film called ‘Precious’? Mariah Carey — remember how awesome she was in that film? Terrific. Lenny Kravitz. The late Whitney Houston was in a film called ‘The Bodyguard.’ ”

Houston, however, played a musician in “The Bodyguard,” which was a role very familiar to her. If the “Talk That Talk” singer were to depict the beloved singer and actress in a Whitney Houston biopic — as she told the U.K. Press Association she “would give her entire life to do” — she would no doubt have more experience to draw on than someone who was just an actress. But Rihanna’s role of FBI agent Raikes in “Battleship” is unfamiliar territory.

The thought never worried Berg. “Well, look at Mariah Carey in ‘Precious.’ I mean, my God, you would never have thought that was Mariah Carey,” he said.

Berg says that what helps musicians as they cross over into acting is that they already have many of the same skills actors possess.

“They’re very artistic. They’re expressive. They’re honest. They’re willing to take chances,” the director explained. “And I knew from the second I saw Rihanna in her videos that that girl had real charisma. She came in and had a long meeting with me. We just played around, and she really didn’t even know what was going on, but what was apparent is that she really has the guts to take chances. There’s probably no more single important skill than that, that you can ask for in an actress.”

Rihanna In The Barbados

August 5th, 2011 | By love not hate

Rihanna enjoyed a much-deserved day off from work, soaking up the sun back home in Barbados with her childhood pals. After flaunting her bikini body at the Kadooment Day Parade earlier in the week, the pop siren flashed more of her curves in a white bikini while splashing on the beach. She seemed to be having a blast, laughing with her girlfriends as they jet skied and rafted in the ocean.

There were rumors that RiRi was rekindling her romance with ex-boyfriend Negus Sealy after the two were photographed dirty dancing at the parade, but RiRi laughed off the reports. “Haaaaaa!!!! That’s funny, I grew up wit all these guys! Its all Fam’!!! EW! (In my Nicki Minaj voice),” she tweeted.

She will bring her “LOUD” tour to Barbados tonight for a homecoming concert at Bridgetown’s Kensington Oval.

Rihanna, anothr lawsuit!

June 24th, 2011 | By love not hate

According to RadarOnline.com, this time photographer Phillip Paulus has gone to the court alleging that Rihanna used his fashion series of photogra
phs called ‘Paperworld’ in her music video, without his permission.

In her video, Rihanna wears a big dress and is constricted by a layer of plastic against a wall, with X’s around her, just a model was depicted in Paulus’ ‘Paperworld’.

Rihanna“For legitimate reasons the use of copying Paulus’ work over a million times requires an agreement that protects the copyright and the achievements and creations of our client which has never been given by our client, neither to the artist Rihanna nor to her label Universal Music. According to this, the copyright laws of our client has been infringed and the worldwide million-wise exploitation of the video ‘S&M’ is unlawful,” said Paulus’ lawyer.

Previously, Rhanna had been sued for the same racy and controversial video by another famed photographer, David LaChapelle.

Rihanna Man down protest!

June 2nd, 2011 | By love not hate

The Parents Television Council believes so, condemning the R&B artist for her recent “Man Down” video, where the singer is shown committing premeditated murder to retaliate against a man for sexually assaulting her.

Joining hands with Industry Ears and the Enough Is Enough Campaign, the PTC is calling on Viacom to stop airing the video, which premiered on BET’s “106 & Park” on May 31.

In a statement, Paul Porter, the co-founder of Industry Ears and a former voice of BET, said, “‘Man Down’ is an inexcusable, shock-only, shoot-and-kill theme song. In my 30 years of viewing BET, I have never witnessed such a cold, calculated execution of murder in primetime.”

“Viacom’s standards and practices department has reached another new low,” he added.

Further fueling the criticism from the media watchdog group, Rihanna told her Twitter fans that the video contained a “very strong underlying message 4 girls like [her].”
“A graphic portrayal of the singer getting back at an attacker by shooting him in cold blood in a crowded train station and then fleeing the scene is potentially the worst possible message that could be sent,” Melissa Henson, director of communications and public education for the PTC, expressed.

With what appears to be lyrics resonating close to home, “Man Down” follows the story of a woman who was assaulted by a man she met at a club, whom she later gunned down in public.

“What started as a simple altercation, turned into a real sticky situation. Me just thinking on the time that I’m facing makes me want to cry,” the lyrics read. “I didn’t mean to lay him down, but it’s too late to turn back now.”

The Grammy Award winner was herself, a past victim of domestic violence. Back in 2009, news of her physical assault from then boyfriend Chris Brown surfaced just after her scheduled performance at the Grammy Awards was canceled. A leaked photo obtained by TMZ revealed that she had sustained visible injuries.

Brown, who was charged with assault and making criminal threats, pled guilty to the felony assault and received five years’ probation, ordered to stay 50 yards away from the singer.

Two years later, Henson stated that instead of using her celebrity to send an important message to female victims of rape and domestic violence, Rihanna releases a music video that gives retaliation in the form of premeditated murder the imprimatur of acceptability.

“If Chris Brown shot a woman in his new video and BET premiered it, the world would stop. Rihanna should not get a pass and BET should know better. The video is far from broadcast worthy,” Porter further noted.

Additionally, Pastor Delman Coates, founder of the Enough Is Enough Campaign, pointed out that “Man Down” was also in clear violation of BET’s own programming guidelines shared with the public by Debra Lee, the chairman and CEO of BET Networks who had previously rejected Rihanna’s “S&M” clip for being too raunchy.

“We’ve gotten more strict on what we allow on air,” the CEO told FOX Business. “We used to live by broadcast standards, but as the hip-hop industry got a little more risqué we actually had to bring that back some and say just because it can be on the air doesn’t mean it has to be on the air.”

In regards to BET’s decision to decline airing Rihanna’s “S&M” video, Lee commented, “Rihanna, we’ve been working with. And that sort of amazed me a little bit, that I had to say ‘no’ to women, but someone had to be the grown-up in the room. I didn’t ask for that job but someone had to say ‘no’ in looking at it from our young audience’s perspective.”

Holding the BET accountable for their own selective broadcast decisions, Coates joined the PTC and Industry Ears in calling on Viacom executives to immediately pull the video from programs that were targeted to youth and teenagers.

“Once again BET has chosen the low road over the high road,” Coates added. “Violence is a pervasive problem in all corners of our society and today’s youth need more positive strategies for dealing with conflict that those portrayed in the Rihanna video.”

“No one questions that female pop stars can be profoundly influential in the lives of young girls,” Henson also stressed. “A new study in the Journal of Children and Media serves to further underscore that point, especially among girls [from] ages nine to 11. We call on Viacom to immediately stop airing the video.”

The PTC, Industry Ears, and The Enough Is Enough Campaign all work to curb the flow of negative and harmful messages targeted to children, individuals, and communities alike.
