Willow Smith To Possibly Star In Annie Remake

January 22nd, 2011 | By love not hate

It looks like Willow Smith could be hitting the big screen again. Apparently, Will Smith, his Overbrook Productions company, and Jay Z are in talks to remake the classic musical movie Annie with Willow playing none other than Annie herself. The film would be produced in conjunction with Sony. Remember that it was Will’s Overbrook company that produced last year’s remake of The Karate Kid, which ended up grossing $350 million.

So what do you think? Can you see Willow as Annie?

Soulja Boy Claims He Wrote Willow Smith’s “Whip My Hair”

January 4th, 2011 | By love not hate

While Willow Smith continues to rake in sales with her hit “Whip My Hair”, Soulja Boy is stepping in to take credit for her debut single.
According to Soulja Boy, he’s the one who actually penned the popular hit hence why she uses one of his trademark lines.

Speaking on the track, he told his over 1 million followers on Twitter,

“Yes it’s true I wrote Willow Smith’s “Whip My Hair”, that’s why she says Hop Up Out The Bed, Turn My Swag On.”

Moving past the Billboard hit, Soulja Boy also says that he’s looking for the next female superstar to add to his SODMG label in 2011.

All I need to do now is sign the next biggest female star to my label… hmmmm… *puts on thinking cap*.”

As previously reported Soulja Boy recently released his The DeAndre Way album but experienced poor sales, moving only over 13,000 copies in the first week.

Willow was spotted in New York for “Dick Clark’s Rocking New Year’s Eve” Friday where she performed the Soulja Boy ghostwritten track.

Willow Smith May Remake Father’s “Parents Just Don’t Understand”

December 28th, 2010 | By love not hate

Willow Smith recently interviewed with Yahoo! Music, where she discussed her upcoming singles, working with her family and, of course, Jay-Z.

On a remake of “Parents Just Don’t Understand”:
There’s a possibility that I will…it’s a really great song.

What advice you get from your parents?
Have fun because that’s the best. If you’re not really having fun then there’s no point of really trying. And sometimes it can be work [but] you need to do it. Sometimes you have to do it because you have to promote your song.

What’s the message of your music?
I have the motto that says “Whatever you see in your closet that you like….pick it and wear it.” It’s not just your closet but it’s with your life. Whatever catches your eye…check it out. If you want to jump over a log, jump over a log.

On working with Jay-Z
When I have an idea and I express it to him, he doesn’t say “Oh, that’s bad I don’t like that!” He tries to make it better.
